Development / Knowledge of Safety Program
- Coordinate on-site orientation programs (video, slides, tapes, and special booklet).
- Develop Emergency Procedures (fire, rescue, severe weather, etc.). Each procedure is tailored to the individual project with guidelines provided in our Safety and Loss Control Manual.
- Develop Work Procedures (lockout, confined space entry, hazcom, trenching, scaffolding, etc.).
- Identify personnel safety responsibilities - Project Manager, Planner, Superintendents, General Foreman, Foreman, and Safety Managers are outlined in the Safety and Loss Control Manual.
Implementation of Safety Program (Education and Information Dissemination)
- Incorporate SAFESTART language into all education materials.
- Jobsite education (All personnel, including subcontractors, see above)
- Weekly Toolbox Training Meetings
- Daily BOS & STA implementation
- Manager and Craft Training Program
- Weekly Management and Job-Wide Meetings (with safety review)
- Safety Net Newsletter and Safety Alerts
Enforcement
- All inspection and investigation materials incorporate SAFESTART language.
- Responding to Employee Recommendations
- Investigation of Accidents / Incidents (MCA) High Level Response
- Intervention Plans
- Administration of Discipline Requirements
