Model Loading Project - BASF Chattanooga, TN

To meet production, shipping demands, and safety requirements, BASF, Chattanooga, TN, requested BIS Frucon Industrial Services' site support to modify an existing loading structure that would support a variety of loading needs involving different shipping containers. The safety concern required the loading structure to be modified and constructed to ensure the safety of loading and shipping personnel.

A model loading platform was purchased from others and assembled on site by BIS Frucon Industrial Services. The existing loading structure roof was removed and extended approximately 3 feet higher. Additional support column beams and steel was added to increase the size of the roof canopy providing enhanced weather protection during loading operations. Piping modifications and loading arms were installed allowing additional flexibility of shipping requirements.

Construction activities had to be coordinated around trucks and rail-car loading activities. The project was completed before schedule and under budget.
