BIS Frucon

ASTA, Inc. is a leading global producer of Continuously Transposed Conductors (CTC) used in windings for transformers and other electrical equipment. They are made with epoxy coated flat copper wire. ASTA is building their first U.S. plant in Waynesboro, Georgia.  BIS Frucon Industrial Services is providing a full line of services including, project management, engineering, procurement and construction for this new state of the art plant. The major unit operations being installed include wire drawing, annealing, enameling, wire forming, CTC's and paper taping.

 The largest unit operation is enameling of wire, which includes installation of a tower that is 40' x 100' x 100' tall. The project includes over 320 tons of structural steel and 1,100 cubic yards of complex concrete foundations and pits. Full startup is expected in early 2009.
